Welcome
Calendar updated for the Month of January Guest Speakers!
UPDATES (TUES. January 27):
Tuesday, we had a great speaker. Nick Webben the owner of Louisiana Coin Exchange had many great stories and historical facts on the history, and current status, of currency. He runs a great local business and is a value to this community. We would like to thank him for coming to speak with us.
Saturday, February 6, the West Shreveport Lions Club us sponsoring a free glaucoma screening for any who would like to come. This is one of the many services the Lions Club brings to the community. We encourage all to come as we would like to help as many people as possible.
We are also looking for a few local businesses to allow us to leave used eye glasses boxes in their store. These boxes are very nice looking and will provide a drop off place for those wishing to donate their used eyeglasses to the needy. Please see the contact info and get in touch with Lion Kenneth Favrot if you, or someone you know, could help with this.
Please check out the Pictures link to the left to see pictures of out Christmas Party.
For guest to our site, we are still looking for new members. Please contact us at westshreveportlionsclub@gmail.com, or just come on in to our next meeting on Tuesday, and find out how to become a part of our club. We need your help to serve the community.

Welcome! West Shreveport Lions Club is here to serve you and the entire community. We are a non-profit organization interested in serving the community. Through donations and fund raisers we support the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation, the Louisiana Eye Bank and the Louisiana Lions Crippled Children's Camp located in Leesville, LA. We are also starting a new service called the Cub Sight program. This program tests children from the ages of 1-5 years of age in hopes of detecting eye problems at an age when these problems can be solved. Below are links that further explain the missions of these different organizations.

We currently have 20 members and meet every Tuesday for a buffet lunch at the Holiday Inn on Financial Plaza. Each week features a guest speaker from the community. Our guest speakers include anyone from local politicians to small business people, or anyone else that might have something interesting to talk about. We encourage anyone to join us for lunch. Please see our calendar to see who is up and coming.
Each year we also have several fund raisers in which the proceeds go to the various organizations listed above. We have a scramble golf tournament that includes a fun day of golf, breakfast, lunch and fellowship. Many will receive prizes from the drawing that are held at the end of the day, along with nice prizes for the winners of the tournament. We also set up a booth at the Greenwood Pioneer Trade Days. At this event, we serve food and have a raffle. This year our raffle winner won an ice chest full of cash! There are also many other smaller projects throughout the year we are involved with in the community. We are constantly trying to drum up new ways to serve the community. Besides raising money, we donate our time to many different activities that include all kinds of community service. If you feel there is some way that we can serve you, please feel free to ask.
If you or someone you know is in need of eye glasses and funds are not available to purchase eye glasses please feel free to contact us for help. It is possible that we can get the eye glasses for you after a short screening process. Please contact our Club Secretary for assisstance.
Please keep an eye on the calendar to see what is up and coming. We encourage everyone to attend our weekly meetings. If you are interested in joining us, please contact the New Membership Chairman or an officer listed on the Contact Us link.
